About Course

Welcome to Understanding OCD Recovery. In just two hours, you’ll learn about OCD, the principles of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard in the treatment of OCD, and how to begin applying them in your own recovery journey. I am Dr. Sunil Punjabi, an ERP practitioner, the author of 5 books on OCD, and the founder of Unshackle Counselling. I will be your course facilitator.

In addition to the videos and text, there are worksheets and additional reading resources provided along with this course. Use them well. Reading resources provide additional relevant information not covered in videos here. And practice on the worksheets extensively. They will guide you to take the right action and move towards recovery.

There is no need to complete this course in one sitting. Take your time, practice the exercises, and revisit any lesson whenever you need to. Most lessons are also independent of one another. Except that they follow a general path from psychoeducation to mapping your OCD to exposure work to maintenance of progress.

One more thing. While this course provides the complete framework, customizing your ERP scripts can be tricky sometimes. If you want private, 1-on-1 support to build your tailored exposure plan, click here to book a private counseling session with me.

The following are three quick videos on the course before we begin the first module:

  • Introduction: Meet your instructor and learn about my background and approach to OCD recovery.
  •

  •
  •
  • You are not who you think you are: Your OCD may make you feel like a bad person, but the good news is that that is a false signal sent to you by your OCD.
  •

  •
  •
  • What this course will do and won’t: This course will give you all the tools that you need for recovery, but it will not take the action for you. That is your responsibility, and yours alone.
  •

Let’s start then, shall we? Onto the first module. All the best.
